International Women's Day is a day of recognition and a celebration that celebrates the acts of courage and determination by ordinary women who have played an extraordinary role in the history of their countries and communities, while also campaigning for greater progress towards gender equality. This day has been observed since the early 1900s, and is now recognised and celebrated on March 8th every year.

International Women's Day campaign theme is #BreakTheBias. An equal world is an enabled world. Individually, we're all responsible for our own thoughts and actions - all day, every day .We can actively choose to challenge stereotypes, fight bias, broaden perceptions, improve situations and celebrate women's achievements. Collectively, each one of us can help create a gender equal world. Let's all be #EachforEqual.

Here are some recommendations on how you can celebrate International Women’s Day : Spend time with your mom, reach out to women in your community who are in need of help, visit a local women’s day event near you, support other women, learn about impactful women or you can celebrate it in your own personal way just by reading these compelling books below.

Quote of The Day

"I guess a big part of serious fiction’s purpose is to give the reader, who like all of us is sort of marooned in her own skull, to give her imaginative access to other selves." – David Foster Wallace
