1. Who can be library members and how much does it cost?
Membership is open to all Malaysians, Permanent Residents and Foreigners with valid travel documents.

2. What can I do with my library account?
You are able to logon to your Member Personal Page and view information on your transactions, reserve items and renew due dates. You can check account at this link.

3. Lost Cards
Lost cards can be replaced for RM5.00 at the Library Service Counter. Cards lost due to fire, accident etc can be replaced for free by submitting a police report.


 

Loans

1. How to find library material(s) across the whole network of Sabah State Library?

2. How many books can I check out at one time?
New Members (below 2 years) – 2 items
Renewed Members (2 years and above) – 6 items
Members can check out 6 e books from Overdrive and 2 from e-Lib

3. Can I do renewal over the phone or online?
Yes, you can call the service counter to do a one time renewal. For online renewal, kindly access your Sabah State Library membership account through this following link.



Services

1. WIFI
Library members can access the library wifi by registering at the counter

2. Discussion Rooms at the HQ
Discussion Rooms can be reserved at the Reference desk. Maximum number of users in a room- 8.

3. How do I search for materials online
You can go to our website and do a search on our WebOPAC

4. Can I ask reference questions online?
Yes. You can submit your question to us via our WhatsApp chat.

5. Can I check out Reference Books?
No. These books are meant for reference and cannot be taken out of the library.

6. Are there any services for Special Needs group?
Yes. We have Braille and Tactile books available for loan.

7. What if the materials I need are not available at the library?
Please see reference librarian for Inter Library Loan service.
